Unlocking the Power of Pluto Cazimi: A Time for Transformation and Self-Care
A cazimi occurs when a planet comes into direct alignment with the Sun. As the Sun completes its yearly orbit, it comes into contact with each planet at least once, but sometimes more often for the inner planets (such as Mercury).
This year Pluto is Cazimi exact on the 20th January, but we’ll feel it before and after that. It’s exact as Pluto and the Sun both cross from Capricorn to Aquarius which is extra special (read more here).
The Sun represents light and consciousness. When it aligns with a planet, the archetype of that planet is, in some ways, amplified or elevated. If you have a cazimi placement in your birth chart, you likely feel the archetype of that planet heightened for you.
Cazimis are a beautiful time for us to work with the heightened archetype of the planet.
Pluto is associated with depth, getting to the bottom of something, and clearing out. Sometimes it’s even referred to as the colonic of the universe, as it comes and cleans away anything that is old, rotting, and no longer needed. It’s a planet associated with change and transformation, often considered the alchemist.
As humans, we don’t always embrace change. We become attached to unhealthy habits and relationships, and Pluto can sometimes come along and pull the rug out from under us, so to speak. But when it does, it’s for a good reason. When Pluto is cazimi with the Sun, we have a three-day period with this energy. It’s like a mini Easter, if you will—a time of death and rebirth.
Spiritual Nutrition Self-Care Recommendations during Pluto Cazimi:
Clear Your Space: Take time to physically clear and clean your space—see tips on space clearing here.
Cleanse Your Body: Consider doing a cleanse. This could be a juice cleanse or water fast, mono-eating, or a kitchari cleanse.
Book in for a Colonic: Or try an enema at home, to help your body release toxins that are weighing you down physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Personal Empowerment: Journal and write down where you feel you're holding onto things that are no longer serving you. How would it feel to let go of those things? Who would you be without them? Or what challenges are you currently facing, and where is the growth in them that’s helping you to evolve?
Spiritual Depth: Allow yourself time for stillness and contemplation in meditation. See what arises from your depths. Pluto is about the landscape that we cannot see, both physically and metaphorically.
