What Is Spiritual Meditation?
In essence all traditional meditation is spiritual as the ‘goal’ is to connect into our deepest most self, the eternal aspect of us. I say “goal” like this as in spiritual meditation there is so much surrender, that even goals and spiritual desires need to be dropped to enter this inner most space - it’s a paradox for sure.
Many modern meditations that don’t have a spiritual aspect are really relaxation exercises. They use meditation style techniques to calm the mind and slow down the body. It’s fair to say that all Meditation is Relaxation, but not all Relaxation is Meditation. But unfortunately the word meditation is being used interchangeable a lot with mindfulness. This is why I like to use the term Spiritual Meditation as I feel it clearly defines what I practice, share, teach and guide.
Spiritual Meditations must allow silence for the practitioner to go deeply into themselves. If it’s guided by a voice the entire time and there’s no silence then it’s harder to go deep into yourself, you tend to stay more on the periphery. The most advanced form of Spiritual Meditation is then doing the practice unguided - where you guide yourself in the beginning by using meditation techniques but then drop all techniques and see where your inner energy takes you.
I teach all about Spiritual Meditation in my Level 1 Meditation Course. You’ll learn spiritual science, techniques, the mystical aspects and have the opportunity to see which techniques work best for you and create a unique personalised meditation for yourself that you absolutely adore.
