In this workshop, Belinda will guide you through a practice to welcome in the Astrological New Year (which begins Wed 20th March) and create a personal affirmation for the year.
Seeing the Astrological New Year as a new cycle, a fresh start, it is a great time to look at where we want to 'plant' seeds for this year, where we want to place our focus and direct our energy. We will begin with a talk about the astrological story of this new year, a big picture flavour and some of the key dynamics we will experience this year.
We will then go into a journaling exercise around personal affirmations as antidotes for our deepest wounds/self limiting beliefs. It's an opportunity to experiment how different positive words feel in our body and if they are the 'key' for our personal limiting belief. The workshop will close with a yoga nidra practice to blend the astrology and also work with the new affirmation, to put into practice everything we've learnt.
Why this workshop?
• The astrological new year is an important new cycle. We often feel these natural new beginnings in our body and so we can make the most of this energy by working with it intentionally.
• As the astrological new year starts we naturally feel more energy and curious about what we want to cultivate over the seasons of the next year.
• A powerful way to elicit change is by working with deep rest and our subconscious mind. Creating a personal affirmation is not a heavy resolution with no plan. It's a way to work consistently and gently and to see what flowers out of clearing out old beliefs.
• This is a beautiful intentional way to create a new cycle of growth in a spiritual but grounded way. Details for the day:
• Please wear warm comfortable clothing.
• Bring a journal to take notes.
• Arrive by 7pm for some tea and for a start of practice by 7.15pm. Very looking forward to sharing this workshop with you and seeing you there!
More about Yoga Nidra: Yoga Nidra is an ancient meditation practice for relaxation, emotional regulation, manifestation and subconscious reprogramming. It translates to Yogic Sleep which describes the body and mind going to sleep but the inner awareness staying awake and present. It’s structured to guide us through the subtle energy bodys (koshas) to our inner most state. Yoga Nidra consists of working with a personal affirmation, body scan to create coherence, energy work, emotional regulation by somatic experiencing pairs of opposite emotions, awakening inner vision and imagination, and connecting with your inner most self.
