How to accept yourself and why it's so important on the spiritual journey
I just received an email from a friend in Oz asking me how I'd been coping with the UK winter. I half laugh how much it's a topic conversation. But tuning into it above all else I've shared I've realised how precious moment to moment acceptance has been for me.
When we resist something, want to push it or wish it away, it tends to feel so much more to bare.
I've found that accepting how things are in a moment to moment way has dissolved so much tension and anxiety for me and has helped me to float along in the now.
Focusing on how lush I can make this moment, how present, how much I can enjoy whatever I'm doing, rather than wishing it all away. Of course its a practice and I'm not a saint, but it's been helping.
I filmed a YouTube video last year on how acceptance can unlock so much for us on our spiritual path. It's more about self acceptance, but it's so good I felt to share it with you today as it's a topic that comes up in mentoring a lot and I often share on this with private clients.
Acceptance of ourselves can be such a healing balm in our spiritual journey. To accept when things don’t work out, or you made a mistake helps you come back to your centre so much faster, rather than be taken even further away from yourself.
