Journal Prompts for the Summer Solstice
Mid Year Contemplations
As we arrive at the longest brightest days of the year it’s a natural time for celebration and inner reflection. What has come to pass in the last 6 months? What does abundance mean to you at this time of year when Mother Earth is most throbbing with the aliveness of life.
Summer Solstice has always been a call to celebrate.
The sun is such a HUGE driving force in our lives, it sustains everything on this planet. Put a plant in a cupboard for a few days and see how quickly it wilts. Similarly without sun we can feel depressed and lack nutrients such as vitamin D.
Studies have shown early morning sunlight before 10am helps Vit D synthesis, and also helps us to create a range of peptides and hormones. It’s anti-aging for our skin and also helps us to create a diverse gut microbiome. Learning how to harness the energy of the sun correctly bring so many benefits.
I love doing the “light of 1000 suns meditation” on this day.
