Morning Rituals To Feel Amazing

My morning routine using essential oils to create a high vibe healthy start to the day….

I get asked about my morning routine a lot and wanted to share a basic outline of what I do and resources including some meditation, oils and my favourite self care items. It’s all about detoxing and nourishing my body - and feeling clean and clear to start the day.

Oil Pulling

Most mornings when I roll out of bed I head straight to the bathroom and scoop a spoon of coconut oil and slide it in my mouth and then add a drop of thieves oil straight from the bottle. It’s a simple approach since I live in London and the coconut oil is hard all year round. But it blends nicely in the mouth and I know I have the perfect quantity of Thieves oil in there for me. Oil pulling is an ancient ayurvedic practice that helps to ‘pull’ out toxins from the body after it’s been in detox mode overnight. Theives oil is antimicrobial and a powerful combination with coconut oil to really cleanse the mouth in the morning.

Dry Skin Brushing

Whilst I swish it around I dry brush my skin, starting with my feet and stroking up towards my heart to improve my lymph movement and wake up my body and stimulate more blood to the surface of my skin. I always end the slower with a blast of cold for a minute which helps draw back all your blood towards your organs, another circulation booster, that my mentor taught me 8 years ago.

Tongue Scraping

After I get out I head to the kitchen to make some activated lemon water, and after that it’s time to let the coconut oil pulling mix go and clean my teeth (yes I keep the oil in all that time, 10-20minutes). I use a Tongue Tingler tongue scraper by Jasmine Hemsley, it’s copper and does a great job of removing all the toxins ‘pulled’ out by the coconut oil pulling. If you’re in Australia, the Heal Thy Self tongue scraper is perfect.

After this I dab some Magnify Your Purpose essential oil blend on my wrists as my ‘fragrance’ of choice right now.

Stretching, Yoga, Meditation

I then start yoga, stretching and meditation and my morning rituals. I love having Frankincense, Lavender and White Angelica essential oils diffusing during this time. Before meditation and yoga it’s important to energetically clean the space of any negative energy. Sometimes unfortunately burning incense isn’t always practical as it really smokes up a room fast without an open window. I use both where I can and use incense on a charcoal burner as the sticks sometimes have chemicals in them. White Angelica is a great blend for clearing negative energy and a go to for me for space clearing.

I do a short mystery school ritual that includes the 4 elements and connecting the omnipresent divine, and then move onto stretching, yoga and meditation. I’ve included a playlist of my fav music to stretch too below.

My fav go to meditation right now is from Ecstasy Now which involves shamanic shaking and dancing before sitting to meditate. I’ve got more options for you available for free as well.

You can see some videos on my YouTube including how to sit in meditation and some simple exercises to awaken your body, then try the meditations in my Spiritual Nutrition Community. The Microcosmic Breathing is perfect to awaken your energy body and then to sit and be present with yourself if you’re after a short but effective practice.

My favourite breathing right now is alternate nostril breathing. But rather than breathing both sides I block the right side and breathe through the left nostril and breath in Bergamot - I find this so relaxing and breathing through the left side only really helps to get me back into my parasympathetic nervous state. So if you’re ever feeling in overdrive and need to calm fast this is an amazing technique and the Bergamot is great for reducing stress and promoting relaxation.

I love finishing my practice with dance and celebration and feel really alive and in a good vibration. I use one of the highest vibration essential oils for this - Young Living Joy blend - and then put on my Ecstasy Now Playlist.

After my practice I have lemon water. I make it with real lemon and a drop of Lemon oil in the water to add extra d-limonene (from the skin of lemons) which is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and helps digestive tract health. I also had 1/2 teaspoon of himalayan salt, and stir with a wooden spoon to create a vortex, stirring one and then the other. This “activates” the water. I then also infuse it with an intention for the day, or simply gratitude, and drink!

On occasion I also love making this cacao drink as a treat and to open up my heart to pour into my work...

Mid Morning Cacao Ritual Drink

In winter I often make a warm cacao drink and add either Orange oil or Peppermint oil at the end.

It’s super simple.

  • Cup of almond or coconut milk

  • Teaspoon of cacao (this is loads for me as I’m quite sensitive to it)

  • ½ teaspoon of Mason’s Mushroom mix

  • 1 tablespoon of Maca Powder

  • 1 teaspoon of Ashwagandha

  • I stir these into the warm milk with a whisk

At the end I add in a drop of orange or peppermint oil and then pour into a mug using a sieve to get rid of any lumps of undissolved powder and enjoy the warmth.

As you can see I use a few essential oils in my routine. These are my “go to’s” and easy to incorporate in my opinion. Being a Taurus sun and Virgo moon I’m super into health and little luxuries that make my mornings feel a little ‘extra’.  Even when I’m travelling I can do most of these things as the oils are super portable and I can listen to the meditation audios anywhere….

I’ve added some links below for the free meditations and for my favourite oils. If you want to know more about Young Living or register for a wholesale account through me and get 24% off your oils from the recommended retail prices you can click here.

Much love
